Which web browser is best?

I'm really tired of all the issues associated with Internet Explorer. IE On I'm increasingly encountering web pages that are inaccessible for no apparent reason. I find it irritating that some websites are slow to load because IE's priority is to make sure those side bar ads are in place first.

Recently I began using Google Chrome on my laptop. With Chrome I have not had issues with web pages not loading.

I know there are a couple of other web browsers out there. Is Chrome the best?

A good alternative is Firefox, could work better for you if you don't have enough RAM memory and open many tabs in Chrome since Chrome uses more memory. You should also try an ad blocker if you have problems with pages loading(you need to learn on how to install an ad blocker for your browser , and how to use it, you will need to disable it on some pages to get the content)

Of the three mentioned, I only use and enjoy the Google Chrome although sometimes I have problem playing with my FB games.

My son discovered Hola and we tried it. Hola is a freemium web and mobile application which claims to provide a faster, private and more secure internet but it was only good for a while and I had issues with many ads and distortion.

Obviously, I could say Chrome is the best option. Sometimes Firefox also do very well. Apart from this sometimes I use Opera aswell. In Chrome, the usage methods are quite easy when compared with other browsers. I also feel comfortable and I can easily access my google products like gmail and blogger.

But I agree with the concern that Chrome consume more memory than firefox. Safari is also one of the best alternative

Ah, no wonder people advised Google Chrome. It's the most popular web browser with huge market share. But that doesn't mean it is the best. Personally I am using Brave. It's relatively unknown browser from former Mozilla CEO. It is meant for people, who like their online privacy. It is relatively fast and it is shielding you from aggressive ads and online tracking. And it has plenty of smart options. I am using it with DuckDuckGo (instead of Google search) which improves internet safety and privacy even more.

I generally use IE just because I always have. I don't find Chrome noticeably faster and I find a lot of things (like Java updates) wont work with Chrome. Also I did get a lot of dubious market research pop ups with chrome so I wont use it for banking.
That said I would really like someone to explain, in really simple terms, what a web browser actually is!

A browser is a software program that talks to a server and requests pages you desire to see.

My son just bought his own MacBook two days ago with at least five web browsers on it but I still use the Chromium. He also purchased a USB-C to USB adapter just in case I needed mouse to play some games.

Here are some of the many web browsers we can choose, it all depends upon the internet speed and our computer themselves: Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Opera, Slimjet, Safari (for Apple inc.), Internet Explorer by Microsoft,
Maxthon, Slimbrowser, Netscape (by AOL), UC Browser , Sea Monkey, Avant, Microsoft Edge, Lynx, Omniweb, NetSurf, Cyberdog and more. Just research for more info.
